Fountains Of Wayne Piece Together Spring Tour

Flush with the surprise success of the single "Stacy's Mom," Fountains Of Wayne is putting together dates for a spring stateside tour. According to the band's official Web site, the band will play New Jersey's Rutgers University on April 22 as part of a slate of dates that run through late May.

Eight dates made up the U.S. itinerary at deadline, the latest addition being a May 28 performance in Norfolk, Va.'s Town Point Park on May 28. The schedule follows a brief European tour that kicks off Saturday (Feb. 28) in Dublin.

Fountains Of Wayne are touring in support of their fifth album, "Welcome Interstate Managers" (S Curve). Released in June 2003, the set topped Billboard's Top Heatseekers album chart and peaked at No. 119 on The Billboard 200. It has sold 345,000 copies in the United States, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

"Stacy's Mom," which netted Fountains a best pop performance by a duo or group Grammy nomination to go with their best new artist nod, reached No. 3 on Billboard's Top 40 Mainstream airplay chart and No. 21 on the Hot 100.
