Sean "Puffy" Combs, Elton John, and Spice Girls were among the top winners of 1997-98 best seller awards, presented Tuesday at the 40th-anniversary National Assn. of Retail Merchandisers (NARM) convention in San Francisco. Combs led all honorees, scoring best-selling rap and R&B recordings for his
debut album, "No Way Out," as well as best-selling dance recording for his Notorious B.I.G. tribute single, "I'll Be Missing You." Elton John, however, nailed down the best-selling single recording of the year award with his posthumous homage to Princess Diana, "Something About the Way You Look Tonight"/"Candle In The Wind 1997."
