The word sampradaya means "passing on the tradition from master to disciple,"

and here, santoor (Indian hammered dulcimer) virtuoso Shiv Kumar Sharma duets with his youngest son, Rahul. Each of the album's three 20-minute works is calm and meditative, with the textured sound of the santoor brought out in all its many colors. Sure to appeal not only to fans of Northern and Southern Indian musics but also to admirers of American and Celtic dulcimer traditions. Distributed in the U.S. by Narada.
