Lennon's 'imagine' To Get U.k. Reissue
Parlophone will reissue John Lennon's "Imagine" as a U.K. single Dec. 13. The decision was made, with the approval of Yoko Ono, to meet continuing demand for the track, which was voted to have the favorite song lyric in Britain's recent "Music Of The Millennium" poll. The enhanced CD single will include
"Happy Xmas (War Is Over)" and "Give Peace A Chance," plus a videoclip for "Imagine."
The song reached No. 3 on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1971 for Lennon and the Plastic Ono Band. However, it was not released as a U.K. single until 1975, when it peaked at No. 6. It hit No. 1 in the U.K. shortly after Lennon's death in 1980.
