Spin Editor Sues Marilyn Manson

Spin magazine executive editor Craig Marks filed a multimillion dollar lawsuit Monday against rock singer Marilyn Manson and several Manson associates over a Nov. 23, 1998, incident in which Marks was allegedly assaulted. The lawsuit -- filed in New York Supreme Court, County of New York -- also names

as defendants Interscope Records and Nothing Records; two Manson bodyguards; and Doe Agency, which employs the bodyguards.

Billboard Bulletin reports that in the suit, Marks claims he was threatened by Manson and physically attacked by the two bodyguards, adding that Manson was upset about not being featured on the cover of Spin. He is seeking a maximum of $1 million in compensatory damages and a minimum of $5 million in punitive damages for, among other allegations, false imprisonment and emotional distress. No parties involved in the suit were available for comment.
