Backstreet Boys Plan Euro Invasion
Following the May 18 worldwide release of their third Jive album, "Millennium," the Backstreet Boys will embark on a three-month European tour. The dates begin June 2 in Ghent, Belgium, and are followed by stops in Germany, the Netherlands, France, England, Switzerland, Italy, Austria, Spain, Denmark,
Norway, Finland, and Sweden. U.S. dates begin in early September.
In other touring news, legendary Czech band the Plastic People Of The Universe embark on their first North American tour Feb. 23 at Boston's Middle East. The 14-city outing includes two dates at New York's Knitting Factory (Feb. 27-28) and West Coast shows in March. ... The celebrated guitarist Jeff Beck launches a U.S. tour March 15 at the 9:30 Club in Washington, D.C.; the tour runs through April 18 and includes stops at Roseland in New York (March 19) and the Universal Amphitheater in L.A. (April 17).
