Despite being cut short by violence Tuesday night, "The Source Hip-Hop Music Awards 2000" will be televised as planned next Tuesday (Aug. 29) by UPN, Billboard Bulletin reports.
Police in Pasadena, Calif., pulled the plug on the show after what they called "a large
fight" broke out in the audience at the Pasadena Civic Auditorium. While police tried breaking up the melee, others erupted. No arrests were made and no injuries were reported.
Although the show was well underway when the fighting began, some of the evening's most-prominent guests never performed. The Source publisher David Mays says UPN will shoot remote performances and award segments to complete the special.
