By Troy Carpenter, N.Y.
Publication: Billboard
Date: Friday, September 27 2002
Blues-leaning singer/songwriter Susan Tedeschi is gearing up for the release of her third album, "Wait For Me," due Nov. 19 on Tone-Cool/Artemis. The disc is her second for the label, and the follow up to 1998's "Just Won't Burn," which earned Tedeschi a best new artist Grammy nomination. It peaked at

No. 2 on Billboard's Top Blues Albums chart and has sold 571,000 copies to date, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

The 11-track "Wait For Me" was produced by Tom Dowd and Tedeschi, who wrote much of the album's material, save a handful of cover versions by the likes of Bob Dylan ("Don't Think Twice, It's Alright") and Paul Pena ("Gonna Move"). The album includes contributions from Col. Bruce Hampton, Chuck Berry sideman Johnnie Johnson, and guitar prodigy Derek Trucks (who is also Tedeschi's husband and father of her young child).

Tedeschi is planning a national tour in support of "Wait For Me," starting in December. For tour dates and more information, visit her official Web site.
