Rasheed Wallace of basketball's Portland Trailblazers has launched Urban Life Music, co-founded by producer Lee Johnson. The Philadelphia-based label's first signing is local hip-hop group 100 X, whose second single, "PHI," features Wallace and is due this spring.
Wallace
introduced and performed with 100 X last weekend at the National Basketball Association's All-Star Game festivities in Oakland, Calif.
In other hip-hop news, in-demand producer Dame Grease is putting the finishing touches on the highly anticipated compilation album "Live On Lenox Ave." The album will be released March 28 by Priority Records and includes contributions from Noreaga, Silk Tha Shocka, and teenage sensations H.O.T. Ones. Grease has previously worked with DMX, Fat Joe, Tricky, Slick Rick, Eve, Harlem World.
