The Grand Ole Opry will spend eight months this year celebrating its 80th anniversary with a series of events, including a Nov. 14 performance at New York's Carnegie Hall.

That event will be held the day before the Country Music Association (CMA) Awards at Madison

Square Garden. Opry members Trace Adkins, Vince Gill, Alison Krauss + Union Station, Alan Jackson, Brad Paisley, Charley Pride and Ricky Skaggs will be on hand for the show.

The anniversary celebration kicks off in late May. Other elements will include a multi-city tour, dubbed "An Evening With the Grand Ole Opry." The tour will feature different performers at each stop, but those who have already committed to perform are Skaggs, the Del McCoury Band and Patty Loveless. Also on tap are a series of Shop at Home Network shows featuring Opry merchandise, including 80th anniversary keepsakes. A special Opry Birthday Bash weekend has been set Oct. 14-15.

The Opry has also enlisted the services of several guest announcers. Willard Scott of NBC's "Today" morning show will be the announcer Oct. 15 and syndicated radio host Blair Garner of "After MidNite with Blair Garner" will host the June 10 taping.
