No Doubt played what lead singer Gwen Stefani described as "our first show in, like, a year and a half" last night in a media showcase at the Hanover Grand club in London's West End.
The performance, for national and international media with a smattering
of
fans also in attendance, was to promote the April 10 U.K. release of No Doubt's new Interscope album "Return Of Saturn." In the U.S., the album is due out the following day.
The pink-haired Stefani and the band played many songs from the new set, including
"Ex-Girlfriend" (due as a U.K. single March 6 and currently No. 5 on Billboard's Modern
Rock Tracks chart), "New," and "Magic's In The Makeup," plus past favorites including "Just A Girl" and "Sunday Morning."
No Doubt's last album, "Tragic Kingdom," sold over 350,000 copies in the U.K., according to Interscope/Polydor, and 15 million units worldwide.
