Profoto Introduces the New D4 4800Ws Studio Generator
for Perfect Digital and Analog Control
ELMSFORD, NY ? Profoto, the leader in studio and portable electronic flash systems, has introduced a new addition
to its D4 flash line ? D4
4800. With the addition of the D4 4800, Profoto is now offering a high power flash unit for
studio photographers.
This new Profoto generator is an excellent main light source for studios specializing in furniture, automobile and large
still life photography. Because of the extensive power adjustment range and high efficiency, the new D4 4800 is also
perfectly suited for bigger set-ups where just one flash generator can be used.
The D4 offers four fully asymmetric lamp outlets ? like having 4 generators in one. The entire 8 f-stop power range is
controlled in increments of 1/10 f-stop. Extremely high light output, coupled with color and color spectrum stability
from flash to flash gives the user high productivity and reliable results.
The extreme stability of the D4 results from a new hybrid flash technology that uses a combination of capacitor
groups, voltage regulation and advanced microprocessors to regulate and fine-tune the output. The result is a
generator with power variations of less than 1/100 of an f-stop.
The D4 family consists of 3 fully asymmetrical generators (1200, 2400 or 4800Ws). All come with an integrated USB
interface and the versatile "Profoto Studio Software" for optional remote control via computer.
The Profoto D4 is fully compatible with the entire line of Profoto light shaping accessories.

The Profoto Pro-B2 ? A New Standard in Professional Battery Powered Flash
ELMSFORD NY ? The new Profoto Pro-B2 is a battery powered flash system designed for the location
photographer who demands more power and faster speeds out of a lighting system.
High performance is what you have come to expect from Profoto; fast recycling (0.04?1.8 sec), short flash
duration (1/2200 sec at full power), up to 250W modeling lamp (continuous or timer controlled), user-friendly
design and exceptional reliability.
A full battery charge yields up to 200 maximum power flashes. The flash energy can be symmetrically or
asymmetrically distributed through one or two heads. In addition, the power level is adjustable over 8 f-stops
in 1/10 steps. The Pro-B2 accepts all Pro Heads including the ProHead, ProRing, ProTwin as well as the small,
portable and lightweight Pro-B Head.
The Pro-B2 is delivered with an integrated 32-channel/4-zone radio receiver for cordless synchronization (triggering).
This Digital Wireless Freedom (DWF) makes it possible to have digital radio triggering between light meters, cameras,
flash units and PocketWizard transmitters and receivers.
With the snap-on Universal Power Adapter, the Pro-B2 can be used as an AC powered studio generator. At the
same time, the generator is quickly recharged, loading an empty battery in just 2.5 hours. The adapter accepts a
wide range of input voltages: 12?24V or 90?240V.
The Profoto Pro-B2 is fully compatible with the entire line of Profoto light shaping accessories.

professional accessories.
Profoto StickLight
The Profoto StickLight is a small and handy lamp head ideally suited for a multitude of photographic subjects
including: automotive, furniture, interiors and portraiture. The unique design and small size allow the unit to be
placed behind or sometimes inside the subject to create unparalleled lighting effects. An integrated clear glass
cover protects the head even if used outside the studio.
Profoto MultiSpot

accent lighting tool, the Profoto MultiSpot offers deep shadows and maximum color saturation.
Optional accessories include a projection attachment for Dedolight lenses, barn doors, iris diaphragm and mask kit.
Profoto FresnelSpot
The Profoto FresnelSpot is a classically sized spotlight that creates "movie light" with sharp, deep shadows and
highly saturated color. When used from a shorter distance, the shadows are more open and light fall off is reduced.
With a large 175mm diameter fresnel lens, the FresnelSpot offers lighting adjustments between 10 and 50 degrees.
The unit also has integrated support for filters and masks.
Barn doors are available as an optional accessory.
Profoto ZoomSpot
The Profoto ZoomSpot is a large, focusable, light shaping tool superbly designed to create stage lighting effects,
accent lighting across huge distances, or for background projection. The zoom lens is adjustable from a
15 to 35 degree light spread and has a revolving lens unit to simplify lighting control.
The Profoto ZoomSpot also has integrated support for filters, gobos and masks.
All three new spotlights have built-in flashtubes to increase output efficiency and give 100% conformity between
the flashtube and modeling light.

Profoto Introduces Three StripLights
ELMSFORD NY ? Profoto introduces three NEW hard sided strip lights. They are available in three sizes: 27, 51
and 75 inches in length. A creative tool ideally suited for beauty, portraiture, still life, automotive and furniture
photography, StripLights create sharp outlines and soft edge shadows. They are also perfectly suited for background
illumination and to accentuate structures.
The Profoto StripLights offer perfectly even illumination with no visible light fall-off and can be stacked to create
larger light sources.
They have an integrated stand adapter and can be used with either the standard frosted Plexiglas cover, or an
optional clear front cover for faster light fall-off and more character.
Depending on the size of the strip light, they come with 1,2 or 3 flash tubes, each having its own power cable for
connection to the flash generator. This makes it possible to allow distinctive graduation control on the two larger
units. All three StripLights offer fully proportional modeling lights and optional barn doors for stray light control.
