Leaf Announces New Leaf 20GB Digital Magazine is now available


Elmsford NY? July 25, 2004 ? Leaf America announced that an all-new 20GB digital magazine is
available for use with the Leaf Valeo and Valeo Wi digital camera backs. The new, high-capacity

Digital Magazine offers the most on-board storage of any digital camera system. The 20GB Digital
Magazine can hold up to 456 Leaf Valeo 22Wi images, 587 Leaf Valeo 17Wi images, over 870 Leaf Valeo 11 images, and over 1,500 Leaf Valeo 6 images all in the RAW uncompressed Leaf 16-bit file format.

In addition to the increased capacity, the Leaf 20GB Digital Magazine is designed to utilize a single drive partition. This allows all images to be captured to a single folder on a single drive rather than spanning several partitions as on earlier systems. Of course, photographers may still set up a custom file management system with multiple folders if desired.

Although the physical size and shape are similar to the 5GB and 10GB magazines, the new version also supports significantly faster read/write speeds. The use of the FAT32 file management system accelerates the read/write speed of the 20GB Digital Magazine. This Digital Magazine reaches 17MB per second compared to 11-12MB per second, which was the speed of previous versions. (Compact flash (CF) cards typically range in speed from 3MB per sec. to 9MB per sec.)
