  • Amsterdam-based advertising agency Strawberry Frog is in what creative director Scott Goodson calls the "soft launch" phase of its New York office. Goodson says the New York outpost is focusing its energy on servicing Pfizer, its first nationwide client, and the American Heart Association's www.boomercoalition.org. Art buying will continue to be based out of the Amsterdam office for the immediate future.

  • Portland, Ore.-based Wieden + Kennedy will open an office in Shanghai, China later this year to service clients interested in targeting the Asian market. The shop, which already has an office in Tokyo, is the global agency for Nike, Coca-Cola and Vodafone.

  • Adweek reports this week that ten brands representing $400 million in spending are up for review. Experts chalk up the agency shuffling to positive economic growth and the desire for clients to consolidate the number of advertising agencies they use. Just a few of the brands in play include Subaru, Discover Card, Heinz and Staples.

  • The New Jersey Department of Transportation has named Mediaworks in New York to create a public safety campaign. Billings are estimated at $3 million.

  • FedEx has asked its lead agency, BBDO, to rebrand its newly acquired Kinko's chain. BBDO New York will break ads in the second half of the year touting Kinko's as FedEx Kinko's Office and Print Centers. The client is spending $25 million on the effort. One agency source says it's too early to tell what role if any print will play in the rebranding.

  • Out of the three major advertising holding companies reporting first quarter revenues last week, Omnicom experienced the biggest gain over last year, up 15 percent to $2.2 billion. London-based WPP's Q1 revenues spiked 6 percent to $1.7 billion, and Paris-based Havas increased one percent to $422 million.
