Leibovitz Exhibit Spruces Up World Financial Center

American Express has moved back into the World Financial Center in downtown Manhattan and has decorated the lobby with the advertising work of Annie Leibovitz. The building, which neighbors the former

site of the World Trade Center, was evacuated after last year's terrorist attacks. The exhibition, titled "Rewarding Lives," will run from October 11 through the end of the year and aims to provide a "healing" atmosphere where people can experience the photographs individually. Working on and off for the credit card company since 1987, Leibovitz has taken portraits of Ella Fitzgerald, Tom Hanks, Barbara Jordan, Tip O'Neil and Rob Reiner for various campaigns. An online auction of the photographs, signed by Leibovitz and the subjects, will raise money for the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council and other charities.
