Perpignan Winners

Aurora's Chris Anderson won big at this year's Perpignan, the 13th international photojournalism festival in France. He picked up the Visa d'Or for his story on the Afghan refugees in Pakistan and he was also named the Kodak Young Photojournalist of the year for his story "The Stone Throwers."

Ad Van Denderen of Vu won the Visa d'Or for magazine photography. He also won the CARE International Grand Prix for humanitarian reporting for his work on immigration. In the daily press category, Erik Refner of Danish newspaperBerlingske Tidende won the Visa d'Or.

For her work on blind footballers, Magali Delporte was named the Canon Female Photojournalist of the year. The picture of the year was a video taken by Palestinian cameraman Talal Abdurahama, for his video of the shooting death of a Palestinian boy in the Gaza strip.
