Widespread, Stranglers Land New Label Deals

Widespread Panic has signed an exclusive worldwide multi-album deal with Sanctuary Records. All albums released under the new arrangement will bear the Widespread Records imprint, established by the band earlier this year after its exit from Capricorn Records. The first release under the deal will be

a new Widespread Panic studio album, which the band will begin recording next month.

Meanwhile, the U.K.'s Stranglers have signed to German rock label spv. The first release under the contract is "The Stranglers Live," due for U.K. release Jan. 29. A new studio album for spv is planned for release next year, with European dates scheduled for February.
