Supertracks Cuts Staff

Supertracks yesterday let go 38 employees, totalling 60% of its staff. The Portland, Ore.-based digital-distribution company plans to concentrate on finding a buyer and licensing its BridgePort streaming technology, which allows users to temporarily store and listen to secured Web-based content from their computer hard drives. In September 2000, Supertracks laid off 40 employees, citing the slow rollout of online music services.
