Sony Japan Speeds Up Downloading
Sony Music Entertainment Japan (SMEJ) has forged an alliance with San Francisco-based Internet infrastructure company Digital Island. SMEJ will use Digital Island's Footprint service to speed up the delivery of digital downloads from sonymusic.co.jp. Footprint also accelerates the delivery of animation,
images, and ad banners.
SMEJ claims that Nielsen/NetRatings has ranked its site as Japan's fifth most-visited.
