U.K. Firm Tornado Links With V.Shop
Virgin Entertainment Group's (VEG) v.shop chain has forged a non-exclusive partnership with London-based e-commerce firm Tornado Group to download music and computer games via in-store kiosks. Tornado will supply the copyright-protected software to the retailer's existing kiosk infrastructure, which was installed after the chain rolled out its operations late last year. "We do not anticipate significant revenues in the short term but are determined to position v.shop as a destination for emerging entertainment products and services," says v.shop commercial director Neil Boote.
V.shop was launched as the result of a redevelopment of VEG's underachieving 229-store Our Price division.
