RollingStone.com and Launch.com have laid off employees as part of integration efforts between the sites and their new parents, GetMusic and Yahoo!, respectively.

GetMusic, a division of Universal Music Group, controls RollingStone.com following the major's acquisition

of the site's former parent, EMusic. GetMusic laid off 40 employees at the end of last week; the bulk of the pink slips were for sales, marketing, and admistrative staffers of Chicago-based RollingStone.com.

Launch last week fired 14 people as it gears up its integration with Yahoo! Another 36 staffers are expected to be transferred elsewhere within Yahoo! soon.

Sources say that in both cases, the moves are the product of back-end redundancies created by the combinations.
