International music publishers trade association ICMP/CIEM will present their "International Award for Serious Music" today to Michèle Worms, publisher of France's "La lettre du Musicien."

The presentation, at the Frankfurt Music Fair, recognizes Worms' efforts in

"consistently supporting music writing, performance, teaching and publishing."

Launched in 1984, La Lettre is published 15 times a year, targeting composers and performers, and has become a reference in international music.

The International Serious Music Award is bequeathed each year to an individual, in respect of outstanding contribution to communicating about serious music through writing, broadcasting, speaking, or using any other media. An international jury of composers decides the winner.

The other nominees for 2007 included Britain's Barrie Gavin, Sweden's Camilla Lundberg, Italy's Max Nyffeler, Germany's Wolfgang Schreiber, Hungary's Bálint András Varga, and Italy's Michelangelo Zurletti.
