Media giant Viacom is turning it's back on Internet video superstar YouTube for upstart Joost.

Shortly after demanding all Viacom content be removed from YouTube, Viacom has partnered with Joost (formerly known as the Venice Project) to license programming from such properties as MTV, Comedy Central and Spike, in addition to Paramount-produced movie clips. Viacom said both new and archived content will be available on the service.

For more information on Joost, look for the Digital Entertainment page in the next Billboard. Also, see this New York Times article.
