The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has denied Gordon "Sting" Sumner the rights to the domain name www.sting.com. The artist filed a complaint on June 13, alleging that a Marietta, Ga.-based man had registered the URL and offered to sell it back to him for $25,000. While acknowledging

the name's commercial value, WIPO said in its ruling that "the personal name in this case is also a common word in the English language, with a number of different meanings."

Sting.com is an online gaming-related site.
