Gregor Stöckl has joined Berlin-based mobile entertainment company Jamba as head of content. In this new position, Stöckl is responsible for all Jamba's content, which includes music, ringtones, graphics and games.

He is tasked with maintaining contacts with record

labels and music publishers. In addition, he is in charge of digital rights management, sourcing and production.

Stöckl heads a team of 60 employees and reports to Jamba COO Martin Ott. Previously, he was self-employed and worked in the artist management and consulting area.

Jamba is credited as being the first European firm to make the sale of ringtones a mainstream business, in part through mass-market TV advertising campaigns. The company was established in 2000 and sold in 2004 to U.S. Internet company Verisign.

It counts 520 employees and sells more than 50,000 different products for mobile phones.
