Dido's "Life for Rent" (Cheeky/Arista) holds sway on European Top 100 Albums for the 16th week, maintaining No. 1 slots in the U.K., Ireland, Holland and Switzerland, and moving 7-5 in Belgium and 11-10 in Italy. Dido will perform at the Brit Awards--for which she has three nominations--on Feb. 17 in

London.

Robbie Williams' "Live at Knebworth" (Chrysalis/Capitol) holds at No. 5 on the aggregate chart. Capitol Music U.K. international director Kevin Brown says the set has sold 2.6 million units worldwide.

A 4-1 climb in Sweden and a 44-11 swing in the U.K. help No Doubt's "The Singles 1992-2003" (Interscope) rise 11-7 overall. The set also moves 10-5 in Greece and 51-27 in Holland. "It's My Life" is up 17-16 on Eurochart Hot 100 Singles after climbs of 7-4 in Sweden, 32-9 in Holland and 10-7 in Italy. No Doubt's total career sales worldwide are 25 million units, according to Interscope.

Dick Brave & the Backbeats move 12-8 on Top 100 Albums with "Dick This!" (WEA). In its local Germany, the act dethrones Williams' "Knebworth" with a 2-1 gain.

"Magic of Music" (Hansa), credited collectively to "Deutschland Sucht den Superstar," debuts at No. 11 on Top 100 Albums and No. 2 in Germany. It features the finalists from the TV talent series of that name and includes the single "Believe in Miracles," a top-10 hit locally in December.

U.K.-based singer/songwriter Katie Melua's album "Call off the Search" (Dramatico) jumps 9-4 in the U.K., prompting a 40-18 climb on the composite chart. The label--owned by producer Mike Batt, who helmed Melua's album--is distributed by Pinnacle. "Search" was certified platinum last week for U.K. shipments of 300,000. Melua, who was born in the European republic of Georgia and raised in part in Northern Ireland, is a student at the Brit School in Croydon, south London.

Black Eyed Peas' "Shut Up" (A&M) holds at No. 1 on the Eurochart. "Du Hast Mein Herz Gebrochen" by Yvonne Catterfeld (Hansa) is new at No. 6; it bows at No. 1 in Germany. Following a No. 3 debut in the U.K., "Take Me Out" by Scotland's Franz Ferdinand is new at No. 10 on the Eurochart, providing the first hit for the Domino label (distributed by Vital/THE).
