Heather Headley Inks Universal Publishing Deal
Universal Music Publishing Group (UMPG) has signed R&B vocalist Heather Headley, who won a Tony Award for her performance in Broadway's "Aida." Her RCA debut, "This Is Who I Am," has sold 494,000 units in the U.S. since its release last year, according to Nielsen SoundScan. This is her first major
publishing deal.
Headley, who is recording her sophomore effort for release next summer, joins a UMPG urban roster that includes 50 Cent, Common, Ashanti, Mary J. Blige and Jill Scott.
