BDS To Monitor XM
Nielsen Broadcast Data Systems (BDS) will next month begin monitoring and reporting airplay data from 10 XM Satellite Radio channels. For now, the data will not be used in Billboard's singles charts but will be available to BDS subscribers.
The XM channels that BDS
will monitor are in formats that include country, top 40, alternative rock and urban.
BDS is working on a similar deal with Sirius Satellite Radio.
