The University of California and California State University systems have selected Cdigix as the official provider of legal digital entertainment services throughout their combined 33 campuses statewide.

The decision follows a seven-month review process by both educational institution as they searched for an authorized digital entertainment distribution system. Each individual campus must make it's own decision whether to license and incorporate the Cdigix service for its students.

Cdigix's services include a digital music download store and subscription service provided in partnership with MusicNet, a video on-demand service, an online educational media distribution platform and an online social community service.

Cdigix also secured contracts with universities in Arkansas, Main and Maryland, but the California deals are by far the largest for the company. Together, the UC and CSU systems have an enrollment of 600,000 students.
