Unsigned Acts Get AOL Push

AOL Music is sponsoring a promotion for unsigned acts, "First Break." During May and June, AOL Music will post original songs from five unsigned artists each month, and AOL users will vote for their favorites, which will then be narrowed down to one overall winner. The grand prize is a demo deal from

Atlantic, an appearance on the popular "Sessions@AOL" program, and a one-year membership to online musicians' network Tonos Entertainment.

In addition to links to each song under consideration, AOL Music will feature photos and bios of the artists. Visitors to AOL Keyword: First Break will also be able to access message boards focusing on competing artists, news, and developments in the contest.
