Greenberg Named Columbia Prez

As expected, Steve Greenberg has been named president of Columbia Records. He will work closely with and report to Will Botwin, who was appointed chairman of Columbia Records Group yesterday (Feb.

8).

New York-based Greenberg founded the EMI-distributed S-Curve Records label, where he served as president/CEO. He keeps the S-Curve name, while EMI keeps the label's signature acts Joss Stone, Fountains of Wayne and the Baha Men.

Prior to founding S-Curve, Greenberg was senior VP/head of A&R for Mercury Records in 1996-99. At Mercury, he signed Hanson and worked with Jon Bon Jovi, among others. Prior to that, he was in A&R at Atlantic.
