'Festival Favorites' To Highlight Indie Films

Sundance Channel Home Entertainment has entered into a deal with Genius Products to create a branded DVD line called "Festival Favorites."

The DVDs will be culled from titles previously screened at film festivals around the world. The companies say they will soon announce

the first 12 releases under the deal.

Genius Products -- which also has branded DVD lines through TV Guide, AMC and National Lampoon -- will distribute the "Festival Favorites" line.

Sundance Channel Home Entertainment VP Mike Haney says in a statement that the partnership is an opportunity to "introduce the best independent films to a wider audience" and to "promote recognizable talent and content at a collectable price." Exact price points have not been announced.
