Warner/Chappell Music has inked an exclusive worldwide publishing deal with Barry Gibb. The deal covers his entire songwriting catalog from 1967 to the present, both as a solo artist and with the Bee Gees.
Gibb was previously with BMG Music Publishing, which still
controls the publishing interests of his brothers, fellow Bee Gees Robin and Maurice Gibb. Gibb tells Bulletin that after 40 years together as an act, the Bee Gees are taking a brief hiatus "to find ourselves as individuals." He says he's currently collaborating with Michael Jackson on new material.
Warner/Chappell says it plans to license Gibb's work for films, TV, and commercials, as well as exploring print music and new-media opportunities.
