The World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO) has ruled in favor of Ticketmaster Corp. after the company filed a complaint against a rival ticket broker who registered the Web site domain name www.ticket-master.com.

Ticketmaster filed the complaint Oct. 10 against

Cecil Spafford, who was operating through an Austin, Texas, company called Ed, Chip, ChipE-D Inc. Ticketmaster argued that Spafford was linking visitors to ticket-master.com to the Web site of his rival business, www.austinticketco.com.

The WIPO panel ordered Spafford to transfer the ticket-master.com domain name to Ticketmaster.
