BMG has formed a corporate umbrella for BMG Special Products, BMG Heritage, strategic marketing, and direct-response TV. The division, BMG Strategic Marketing Group, will also house support services such as business affairs, finance, and music licensing.

who was BMG's senior VP of strategic marketing, has been named executive VP of the New York-based unit, reporting to BMG COO Michael Smellie.
Catalog exploitation will be centralized under former Special Products chief Gary Newman, who will serve as executive VP, BMG Special Products/BMG Heritage. Senior VP Marty Olinick will continue to handle music licensing. Both report to DiMuro. Ex-BMG Heritage head Alex Miller is named senior VP of marketing/creative, reporting to Newman. A team will be named to oversee direct-response TV.
VP of strategic marketing Kenetta Bailey will continue to handle corporate marketing and strategic alliances. Larry Parra, former Special Products VP of finance and administration, takes the same role for the new group. Both report to DiMuro.
