Nelly Furtado and Mexican bands Elefante and Sin Bandera each earned four nominations for the inaugural Mexican Oye! Awards for Recorded Music, including album of the year.
The Oye! (Listen!) Awards--organized by Amprofón, the association of Mexican labels--will take
place Nov. 26 in Mexico City, with nominees in 15 categories selected by the 650 members of the newly created National Academy of Music. Three awards will go to international acts, who are also eligible for some of the other major categories, including album and song of the year and best new artist.
