Kelly Prevails On Fox's 'Idol' Finale

Kelly Clarkson was the big winner last night of Fox's series "American Idol: The Search for a Superstar." She gets a recording deal with RCA, which will release a compilation of songs by the 10 finalists Oct. 1 and an album by Clarkson Nov. 26.

Meanwhile, New York-based

Metropolitan Entertainment will be the promoter for the "American Idols Top Ten Live" tour, a 28-city arena trek that begins Oct. 5 at Cox Arena in San Diego and wraps Nov. 20 at Key Arena in Seattle. Jeff Frasco at Creative Artists Agency is the agent responsible for the tour, which features the 10 finalists from the series. Simon Fuller is executive producer of the show and the tour.
