The Australian Record Industry Association (ARIA) yesterday announced that its annual awards will become a three-part extravaganza. The main ARIA awards, to be held Oct. 15 in Sydney, is moving to the Superdome, home of the Olympics. The venue will accommodate 4,000 delegates and 2,000 industry executives.
The ARIA nominations announcement will take place Sept. 17 in either Sydney or Canberra. The Hall of Fame ceremony will be held in March 2003 in Sydney.
After an ill-fated shift to broadcaster Nine Network last year, which led to a drop in audience ratings, the ARIA awards ceremony returns to the Ten Network for the next three years.
