Black Patch Records Launches

Nashville-based indie Black Patch Records has been launched by chairman/CEO Johnny Slate and president Dick Beacham.

Slate is a songwriter, producer and veteran music publisher. His experience includes a stint as CEO of Affiliated Publishers Inc. Most recently he ran

his own firm, Image Management. Beacham was a booking agent with the Joe Taylor agency before opening the Beacham Agency in 1985.

The label's first signing is country act Ron Williams. His debut single, "I'm Tired of Being Something (That Means Nothing to You)" has gone to radio and his album, "Natural Thing," is due July 20.

CBuJ Distribution in Nashville will distribute Black Patch. Record promotion will be handled by GrassRoots Promotion as well as independents Stan Byrd, Ed Mascolo, Ralph Carroll and Chris Taylor.
