SunnComm Acquires Disc Firm Fan Energy
Digital content security provider SunnComm has announced a merger agreement with CD and DVD manufacturer Fan Energy Inc. Under the deal, Reno, Nev.-based Fan will become a wholly owned subsidiary of SunnComm and will move its operation and an undisclosed number of employees to a new facility near Phoenix-based
SunnComm.
The merger with publicly traded Fan gives SunnComm access to its own research-and-development test facility for future hardware offerings, as well as a springboard to Wall Street, according to COO William Whitmore. "This gives us the criteria to go to [the American Stock Exchange], as well as the eyeballs of the brokerage community and institutional buyers," he says, adding that a key focus is obtaining financing for the develoment of new security technologies.
