Sony/ATV Makes Two Key Appointments

Fredrik Ekander, managing director of Sony/ATV Music Publishing Nordic, has been promoted to creative director of the European division, effective Aug. 1. He will shift from Stockholm to London; at deadline, it was unclear to whom he will report.
Succeeding Ekander
is Patrik Sventelius, who was local A&R manager at V2 Music Scandinavia in Stockholm. He reports to Sony/ATV president Richard Rowe.
In other news, veteran German producer Frank Farian has signed a long-term global publishing deal with Sony/ATV Music Publishing Germany. The agreement covers all catalog-including material performed by Boney M, Milli Vanilli, and No Mercy--as well as worldwide representation of Farian's new AME Music Publishing unit, which will encompass future copyrights. Farian is working on an album from No Mercy, among other projects.
