Apple Computer has introduced an updated version of iPod, the handheld digital audio player. Introduced Wednesday at a trade show in Japan, the new 10GB iPod can store up to 2,000 MP3 music files--twice the capacity of the original. In addition to interfacing with Macintosh computers, the device--currently

available on the Apple Web site for $499-features a free software upgrade that allows users to manage and store personal information, photos, and videos, much like a PDA.
