Jack Valenti, CEO of the Motion Picture Assn. of America (MPAA), says he will exit the trade group in a few months.

Valenti confirmed his plans today (March 23) at ShoWest, the official convention of the National Association of Theatre Owners taking place in Las Vegas.

Valenti has run the MPAA for 38 years. It is not yet known who will replace him, but the organization says it plans to find a successor in the next two or three months.
