Broadjam, Live365 Form Maketing Alliance

Music technology firm Broadjam Inc. and Internet radio network Live365 have formed a marketing partnership. Each entity will market the other's services to users through e-mail newsletters and advertisements.

Broadjam's Web site broadjam.com, allows indie artists to upload music, create personal Web pages and qualify for Broadjam's charts, which are generated by song reviews. The Madison, Wis.-based company's Internet and desktop tools for musicians, record labels and publishers are used by clients including Billboard, Warner/Chappell and the Academy of Country Music.

Foster City, Calif.-based Live365 aggregates and broadcasts an array of streaming audio, with individual stations numbering in the thousands and originating from more than 100 countries. Live365 also offers "personal station" packages and a professional broadcasting service.

As both Broadjam and Live365 serve independent musicians, the combination of services will amplify artists' ability to reach a wide audience, says Live365 COO Rags Gupta. While the cooperative marketing partnership is the first announcement stemming from the alliance, Gupta adds, future developments may include making Broadjam users' content available to Live365 DJs.
