Harriet Pig and her friends team up for four sweetie-pie adventures. First Harriet proves pigs can fly as she triumphs as the fairy in the school play. Then Harriet is the friend who helps her pal Penny Porcupine overcome her fear of heights. Braggart swimmer Lucy Goosey is forced to eat her own words
after eating too much of her own sweets. Homer Mouse learns how to assert himself in the face of Harriet's overwhelming gratitude at having her life saved. Tryon's delightful pen-and-ink illustrations bring life to the predictable text. Ample white space, generous font, and predictable plot, all hallmarks of an early chapter book, appear on these pages. However, awkward word choice makes this average fare for new chapter-book readers. (Fiction. 6-9)
