Orion Publishing has centralised its marketing and publicity department. Helen Richardson has been appointed publicity director for Orion Books responsible for Orion Books, Orion Media, Millennium and VGSF, Victor Gollancz and children's lists, and Orion Paperbacks. She was previously press and public
relations manager at Transworld. Christian Lewis has been promoted as press officer, and Laura Wolverson promoted as publicity assistant. Tasmin Curror joins on 27th September as children's publicity executive. They all report to Helen Richardson.
Katie White, publicity director for Weidenfeld & Nicolson, is responsible for Weidenfeld & Nicolson, Phoenix House, Phoenix Press, Phoenix Paperbacks, Everyman and J M Dent. Reporting to her are Lisa Shakespeare, publicity manager, and Shona Abhyankar, publicity assistant.
Anthony Keates, marketing director for Orion Publishing, is responsible for all marketing and promotions for hardback and paperback imprints. Claire Evans has been promoted to marketing manager for Orion and Pheonix paper- backs. Karen Jones continues as marketing executive for Orion, Phoenix and Weidenfeld & Nicolson trade lists.
Puffin Books has appointed Jill Kidson and Tessa MacGregor as promotions officers, reporting to marketing manager Catherine Bell. Ms Kidson was previously at Wunderman, Cato & Johnson Advertising and Random House Children's Books, and Ms MacGregor was previously at Waterstone's head office.
