Reader's Digest cuts
Staff at Reader's Digest in the UK are waiting to hear whether they will be affected by job cuts announced this week by its US headquarters.
Reader's Digest is to review its international operations as it seeks to reduce costs by $70m (£44m), and is likely to cut about
200 jobs worldwide. The move comes after it saw a 5% drop in international revenues during the quarter to end-March.
A Reader's Digest spokesperson said no decision had been taken about where the cuts would be made. "There are no detailed plans for the UK yet."
Reader's Digest operates in 60 countries worldwide and employs about 300 staff in the UK.
