S&S showcases African -American talent with new online community
Simon & Schuster US has launched an exclusive online community to showcase the talents of African-American authors, Blackbooks central.com.
The community can be found on Simon and Schuster's US Website, www. simon says.com.
The new site focuses on eight novelists for its launch, including Omar Tyree, whose next novel, Just Say No!, will be published on 17th August.
The site will be extended to include children's literature, non-fiction, audio, backlist and e-books.
Announcing the launch, Carolyn Reidy, president of the S&S adult publishing group, said: "Publishing African-American authors has long been a source of great pride and a strong business priority for all the divisions of Simon & Schuster. "At blackbookscentral .com, we aim to provide the kind of additional marketing support for our authors and extra content for readers that has been done so effectively for other interest groups at simonsays.com."
