BL to turn pages at Expo 2000

Turning the Pages, a touchscreen system that simulates the action of turning the pages of a book, is being exhibited by the British Library at Expo 2000 in Hanover.

Using animation and high-quality digitisation, the program enables readers to leaf through electronic

facsimiles of some of the British Library's treasures, including the Lindisfarne Gospels and the Codex Arundel, a notebook by Leonardo da Vinci. The system has been devised by the library, and can be found in the Exhibition Galleries at its Euston Road site.
