Angel Martinez is stepping down as CEO of Keen Footwear to take over as president and CEO of Deckers Outdoor, effective April 11. He succeeds Douglas Otto, who will continue as chairman and focus on strategic initiatives and acquisitions. Martinez will be responsible for Deckers' day-to-day operations,
will oversee management, and drive development of the company's Teva, UGG and Simple brands.
"Angel is a visionary and a strategic thinker with numerous successes under his belt," says Otto. "He is a seasoned footwear executive with great brand-building expertise which will be invaluable as we further evolve the lifestyle nature of our brands."
Keen has no immediate plans to replace Martinez, noting the January promotion of Jim Van Dine to president. "Keen is extremely well positioned to continue building our brand with innovative products and a true partnership approach with customers, employees and suppliers," states Van Dine.
